Makes sense! I was one of those who was disappointed because I believed in Karma, and was bummed when bad things happened after doing so much good.
Thanks for sharing,

Great explanation. Reminded me of my ignorance and using Karma as an explanation of something years ago as a new believer. It was an unbeliever who understood world religions who explained to me that Karma was not what I thought it was, it was linked to Hindu reincarnation. Stopped me short!

Hi Katherine. That’s classic! Please share this with others that are deceived. God bless

I enjoy all your online talks. I’ve put out some feelers to area pastors about trying to get you to speak to the youth. This is an interesting place, each “group” isolates itself. I’ll explain later.
Your Karma views dovetail with the thoughts I’ve had on the idea that “we are all God’s children” and so he won’t get mad at me because I’m basically a good person. As opposed to we can request adoption into his family. “To as many as Received Him to Them gave He the power to become the Children of God.”

Hi Ryan. Truth is narrow and most people don’t have a problem with that fact in regards to any other truths. Unforchenetly most people worship themselfs so they think in regards to heaven that they get to make the rules. Wouldn’t it make sence that the creator of the universe God himself would make the rules? I would love to come out there and teach sometime keep in touch. God bless

I’m glad to see your a Staff Pastor now, Congradulations! i was thinking about calling you earlier but I need to try and work off a Sot of whiskey ( cinnamon ) and a little wine from my Cousin’s wedding celabration after there return from the wedding in jamaica. It’s been 15 years since I had more than a beer or taken 6 months to finish a bottle of wine. ( we had fun shooting darts. ) Well I hope to call you soon! I notified the Lead Marketing director at Zumiez about our plans to get help with your expenses for your trip here in the spring, for the event. It would be nice to do an evangelism date ( Pastor )Jim , but maybe next year! Keep pluging away! Do you enjoy your Bible school? ( Just wondering.)

God has been helping me to live a much better life since I have rededicated my life in June 2001, I’m getting ready to speak at the ” Mission ” here in the Seattle area. ( I try to listen and be Obedient to his will.)Recently I was reading John Bevere’s book called Under Cover, It talks about how we should realize that people are going through some difficulties with out it being warranted like David when he was on the run from Saul, he did not deserve to be like a vegabond but he was being groomed to be a different kind of King for Isreal one that could be disciplined to God and for his people.

Amen!! Thanks Naaman. I have likewise been thinking of David. It has helped me through some tough times. Praise God!! He is good all the time, but that dose not mean than people won’t try and wrong you for no reason occasionally. God bless

that´s an interesting point about karma…
I agree with the point, that when we are connected with the Christ´s energies in our heart (which are simply said the energies of love, compassion, etc – all the energies that are above our ego orientated thinking), our life is easier even in the tough times. By loving Jesus and setting him as our example, we got more energy to overcome the tougher times in life.
I also agree that we cannot expect, that if we treat others well, they will treat us the same way. It doesn´t work like that. I think that god gave us free will, so everybody can do what he/she wants. And we cannot expect, that he/she would act the way we expect – that way we wouldn´t respect that person and their free will. We can only give them what we think is the right example, but the choice is theirs.
But the karma concept is way broader than that. If somebody does something bad (that is a relative term which everybody has their own meaning of), he´s gonna take the consequences. Let´s say if i smoke 20 cigarettes a day, and i got a lungs cancer – there is the cause and effect. And the cause is because I decided that i´m gonna do that – so in the beginning my wrong thinking was the primary cause and the root of illness. So after the result i decide to quit smoking and treat myself better – so the karma is the principle, which leads us to know, what is good and what is bad for us…
Anyway, it is true that we are conscious beings and we have a great potential, that most of us are yet unaware of.
I believe that the universe is too good to be just a “mess and chaos” and there´s no place for coincidence – so there is are laws behind it and karma is one of them.
Just a thought i wanted to share.
(Sorry for my imperfect english – i am from Czech Republic…)

Hi Jan. Thanks for shairing your thoughts with me. Your English is great! Have you watched the blog I did labeled “As long as you believe in something”?? If not check that out and lett me know what you think. Also watch “will we go to hell” and please comment on that as well. People love to add a little Jesus to lies like karma and other world philosophy’s but when you read the things that he said he diddnt leave room for that. If your interested, read the gospel of John. I hope to communicate with you soon and hope are doing good! God bless

Very good message on Karma.
Before coming to Christ in repentance, I used to have a general belief that I think many people have: that there’s some kind of ruling force in the universe that works things together for good and attracts like to like. That there’s some form of omnipotent, omnipresent being that somehow controls things to some degree, creating certain situations that are beyond coincedence.
But that is a fatal twist that the devil is ok with, because that vague force will never lead you to salvation in Jesus Christ. God is the only omnipotent, omnipresent creator that actually does control all things. And His Word tells us that “God works all things for good, to those who believe.”
So if it’s a situation beyond coincedence that you look for, look no further: look where you are now and what your are hearing – and believe. Now is happening for a reason.
God bless Jim Rippey.

Good message Jim. I will have to admit that I sometimes think that trials and heartache in my life are punishment/karma from God for not living the the way he wanted me to live?
You know how some people just glide through life and everything works in their favor and yet for some it is just one trial after another in life to the point of breaking.
Good blogs…thanks for letting me vent a little.

Hi Josh. My old friend. There is a way that all the bad and messed up things that happen to us in life can be used for good. Once you place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ he forgives you of your sins. The bible says to believers “God uses all things together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose”. Meaning that we still go through suffering but now it’s not punitive it’s purifying. The bible also tells us that there are times when God will allow us to go through a trial so that we can learn compassion and help somebody through that same trial. The world is broken by sin Josh and Gods judgement towards that sin is death. But for all those who are in Jesus Christ, God promises eternal life. Love ya buddy!

Thanks Kanji. I think that sence that something is in controle is are conscience and boy dose it scream to us. The bible says that the more we egnore it the more calloused are conscience gets to the point where we completely stop listening to it. Praise God for your salvation!! I would love to hear your testimony. How about a 4 min video blog of it? Just throwing it out there. God bless you bro
